Environmental Earth Sciences has been appointed by the
Northern Territory Department of Primary Industries, Fisheries &
Mines (DPIFM) to act as the Independent Monitor of the McArthur
River mine. The mine is located approximately 900 km south-east
of Darwin.
The role of the Independent Monitor is over a five-year period commencing in
December 2007 and is a condition of McArthur River Mining’s
license to operate under the Mining Management Act.
This website
has been provided for ready access to information regarding the
Independent Monitor’s review of the performance of the mine,
including reports, community presentations and news updates.
